"Dead or alive, your ass is coming with me."
Stranger- The mysterious and stoic protagonist of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath I give you Stranger now pixelated! (And yes, there’s also two fuzzles in there). If you’re wondering why he’s a bit on the short side, it’s because he’s a Yorlyng in the world of Pixel Hero (and yes I know technically he’s not a Cat Person in the game because *spoiler-spoilers* but I’m flexing some creative license on this one).
Lycanthropes- More from the RPG session! These Werewolves were mainly based off the Balverines from Fable and the Werewolves in Dragon Age (With just a little bit of Bigsby thrown in there). These ancient and vicious beasts can still be found stalking the lands of Orbis to this day!
Bandits- Savage and greedy, these deserters of the Kingdom of Light are led by the brilliant and jaded tactician Spade. Here’s a huge array of Bandits fro the RPG session I was talking about. Most of them are based off the Bandits in the first Fable, as is the boss (Spade) in the bottom left (Based off Captain Saker from Fable 3). The Bruiser in the top right was inspired by the Goliaths from Borderlands 2 and the Trapper (who is a Hellgon) was inspired by the Helgahast Shock Trooper. Enjoy!
Today I’ve cooked up something rather special. I give you all the 9 races of Orbis! While most of them (less for the Humans, Orcs, Yorlyngs and Avitus) are extinct by the events of the first Pixel Hero, it’s interesting to look at the 9 races that once presided the ancient lands of Orbis. On a more practical note I made these because I’m actually hosting a Homebrew campaign that takes place in ancient Orbis (amongst other reasons) so this is my way of showing my players the options they have. Also I’ll be experimenting on some new abilities and items with said group (as I’ve designed a Tactical sister RPG system to the one found in the Pixel Hero games). More to come!
"I’m not surprised you’ve come this far. Keep fighting the good fight."
Statesman- In celebration of the 4th of July, I give you the founder of the Freedom Phalanx, the Protector of Paragon City and a symbol of all that is good and righteous Incarnate (heh) I give you Statesman from City of Heroes now Pixelated! He contrasts quite well with Lord Recluse.
Rathalos Soul Armor- One game that hasn’t gotten a lot of pixelations is Monster Hunter, and while I adore the entire franchise (from the music, to the monster design, to the grindy goodness of the entire experience) I’ve always thought that most of the armor designs were too complex for my style of pixelations… until now that is. I’m proud to give you the Rathalos Soul Armor (mostly based on its appearance in Freedom Unite) now pixelated! This one was a real challenge and took me a few hours, it might need a bit of recoloring, but overall I’m very pleased with the result.
Adam Jensen- The brutally efficient and tragically transformed protagonist from Deus Ex: Human Revolution, I am proud to give you Adam Jensen, re-pixelated from one of my first pixelations over a year ago. Why is he getting repixelated now? Well it probably has something to do with the VR Missions, and that’s all I’ll say.
Finally! I present to you the first demo of Pixel Hero!(Prologue [VR Missions]) - Either way here’s your first look at combat narrated by yours truly (Although I have a bit of a cold). I also may have just made a Youtube page on a bit of a whim… Will probably update that soon.
I never really realized just how much went into sound design until today. I knew it was important and challenging, but I never knew just how much there was. I’ve been combing the Fallout 3 SFX for somewhere around 2 hours, and everywhere I look I find a memorable sound, a sound which the game wouldn’t be half as good without. Everything from the satisfying crunch of the enter button in the hacking mini-game, to the level-up sound, to the giblet-filled head-shot sound. It’s truly amazing.
